If the news being sat on is that important there are three possibilities of what should be done:
1. Release the information to market to create a level playing field, then directors could buy
2. Go into trading halt/suspension until the deals currently underway are completed - they include many companies and individuals - many of those could use their market knowledge to benefit from inside information
