    Cash-rich Oxiana explores takeovers

    MID-TIER gold and copper miner Oxiana is awash with cash and examining potential takeover targets after a bumper third quarter of production.

    "We do have significant funds in the bank and of course available to us if we wanted to make a major acquisition," Mr Hegarty said.

    "Our criteria are it has to be base or precious metals and it's got to be in our patch.

    "We are in a very powerful position in terms of cash and looking out there for the future."
