personally, i see no similarily with FMG, who had problems with their corporate relationships & structures rather than with the Kazak govt
with GTE, the Kazak govt JV was always going to be very bureaucratical so obviously they have some matters to sort out, thus the word "negotiations" in the trading halt
the impression i personally gained [from the little that was explained to me] was an positive outcome from this suspension will probably not change anything much
i was told there were some legal matters to sort out, clarify & firm, including related to the TKS Samruk webpage that was posted on Hot Copper, here:

thus, as announced, GTE want to avoid speculation from disrupting "an orderly market in the trading of the Company’s shares"
i am not saying there is nothing to be nervous about but I was personally satisfied with the explanation given
imo, if the JV was over then this would not require 2 weeks
