Well you dont know if it was from a sale the previous day or from a week back. Sometimes what happens is you have a bid, all but 3 get taken and then the stock price rises and you are left with 3 measly shares. Some will pull their bid, some will push it higher in the line, and others will just buy into the current price.

I think the point is, there is nothing sinister about this, and there are many different possibilities. I couldnt possibly see any reason why someone would buy (or sell) 3 shares on its own.
