Id say yes for a lot. Best storage is bottom of ocean or lake.
Not being facetious, avoid the etf. You own physical gold to minimise counter party risk and as a non financial asset. To 'own it' as part of a financial instrument is defeatist imo. I own stocks for leverage to the price of the metal. I own gold for portfolio insurance.
There will come a time and price (much higher) where i will sell or exchange the former. The latter i hope to die with or pass along to kids. Pray i never need it.
