I think it is more a problem with my broker, namely Interactive Brokers LLC. They hold all shares in a nominee name, and with SPP's they make a bulk application on behalf of beneficial share owners such as myself. So somehow the bulk purchase application was incorrect; such as an early application with an estimate of number of shares required, with latecomer applicants given a portion of the allotment. I'm only speculating on what went wrong, but have raised a problem ticket with then but so far, got no satisfactory answer, only that the issue was subject to being pro-rated (scaled back). I believe if they have made a mistake they will never admit it now, as they probably will not change shares now allocated to other clients.
