Oh, a few years back there was some drama because Renovacare fraudulently got a patent issued for effectively a copy of Avita Medical's technology. Then they went around pumping their stock saying they had this "innovative" approach to burns care that they had "invented". Avita appealed the issue of the patent but, if I recall correctly, were unsuccessful because that's not really how things are done with patents (typically patents are challenged by filing an infringement, not appealing their being issued in the first place). I think Renovacare were exploiting a bit of a loophole in how the patent system works and put Avita in a really unfortunate position.

So the tldr is Renovacare pretended Avita Medical's invention was their own in order to pump stock in a worthless, fake company - and a lot of people fell for it.
