it's not about the amount of radioactive material on the planet - in fact as the program showed there's a place in Iran with the highest natural background count on earth (like getting an x-ray everyday) - and nobody shows any ill effects.....
the program was about dispelling the myths of any radioactive exposure - i.e. that in fact it's not all that risky, and many fears have been greatly exaggerated.....
but of course any significant concentration of radioactive material is potentially dangerous....
