Mr Beard,
ASX allows trading halts to avoid potential for a disorderly market when results or other news is pending to allow time to finalise interpretation etc and make there is no chance of inside trading.
AIM only allows suspension if there is a strong chance that releasing the news will result in bankruptcy / admin or you can prove a disorderly market exists (in which case 99pct of the time they force you to make a release detailing whatever inside info some are in possession of that others are not).
