My mate is asian in his 40's.. he bought a house not long ago, went to an auction.. he said he was the only asian there, just white people bidding.. he is not rich or anything .. and he knew how much he was willing to pay.. He didnt want to bid early as to not push the price up. so when it got near his limit he put in his first bid. He said all the other bidders looked at him in shock and just gave up and walked away.. so he got the house with 1 bid..

now he regrets not bidding earlier as he might have got it cheaper
