The reason AMP has been moving up of late is for one main reason - it is paying off a lot of its debt amoutns - this has led to ratings agencies upgrading its credit rating to a more favourable level - this in turn has led to increased profit levels as debt repayments are lower and the institutions and safe haven retail investors have been bidding it up
