As I said, WEB's competition will be an internet travel booking service owned/operated by a consortium of major airlines.
These airlines have a vested interest in the success of which web travel service - now let me guess? WEB - I think not!!
WEB had a 12-18 month head start in the direct/internet sales area and did pretty good. Problem is that, notwithstanding all of their hyped up press releases, they are not making a profit - and indeed are far from it!
To date WEB pretty well had the market to themselves. The arrival of this new competitor spells the death knock for WEB.
I hate to say it, but I warned of such an evolution in www based internet travel booking services (on HC, and relative to WEB) some 18 mths ago.
Ask yourself - why would QAN (etc) tolerate WEB selling their seats at 4% plus (WEB's) cost, when they can do the same things themselves at cost plues zero!!
WEB's days are limited - best they can hope for is a takeover of their client base @ xxx per name.
