Holding the balance of power might be the wrong way to put it. My understanding is that the government will need the support of all cross benchers if the ALP and Greens oppose their legislation. That may even depend on the result of the re run of the WA senate election if that is still to be done. Is anyone clear on how the numbers line up in the senate?
