If the financiers were aware of this ..through their executives ..beneficial ownership should be re-established in favour of the clients

This may require the financiers to reacquire the sold securities or disgorge the proceeds of sale and pay damages sufficient to re-establish the clients position to that prior to the financiers selling the securities.

As to the ultimate cost and difficulty...to the Financiers ..that is little concern to the clients
