GE shed 13% on 1Q profit well below analysts' expectations plus cutting 2008 outlook. "From the credit crisis to General Electric, now one of the biggest companies in the world has missed by its worst ever," said Dave Rovelli, managing director for U.S. equity trading at Canaccord Adams. With several other Dow components to report this week, investor caution prevailed. JPMorgan, Johnson & Johnson, Caterpillar, Coca-Cola and United Technologies all lost ground ahead of reporting.
