According to today's Age, it looks like ANZ wrongfully appointed a receiver to Primebroker Securitioes, which I think was the securities lending arm of Chimaera.
I tell you what, these guys have a lot to answer for. The judgement talks about unconscionability, refusing to return stock and other sordid stuff-ups.
$100m might be a drop in the ocean to ANZ, but I dare say it wasn't that to the clients they hurt. One would hope the reputational damage lasts longer than it'll take the ink to dry on any settlement they reach with Primebroker.
