Suprised to hear and read about that ^^^.
Elliot spent a good few weeks bashing his predecessor for embarking on the Asia Pacific growth stratey, what with Asia earning less ROI than Australia and consuming a lot of capital. Now he wants to do the same in India, I daresay for an even lower ROI than Asia Pacific.
It is not clear what competitive advantage ANZ brings to India, which has a competitive banking industry in its own right. Other than we are foreign, we must be better than the Indian banks (why rich kids in India want to wear Nike sneakers, hold iPhones and drive Porsches).
