I think MQG despite all its capital problems will be a good acquisition for ANZ if it happens. letting Macquarie go bust would be politically unpalatable,
selling MQG to Cronywealth Bank or Paedopac Bank would be equally shameful, and NAB is already embattled by frauds, scams and debt, so ANZ would be the obvious choice if not allowing Macquarie to fail?
