Aust. Stocks have the benefit of franking. That is, the company pays the tax and the shareholder gets that benefit. Wonderful idea.
So the franking credit on 47 cents is 20 cents. Its calculated as follows .47 *.30/.70.
The company tax rate is 30% in a dollar. So the company has paid tax worth 20 cents. We shareholders get the benefit.
Generally ANZ recovers the dividend in about 2 weeks. So if you are holding dont panic.
