Thank you for all you do commemorating ANZAC day.
We usually attend the dawn service in a small village with a school of 20 students and a few houses.
Often a crowd of 40 or 50 depending on families who are home visiting.
Our family is half 5th and 6th generation Aussie and half migrants from Europe and Lebanon.
    We all remember and reflect.
The Grandfather who was captured in Singapore and murdered in Borneo after the Japs surrendered. (No eye witnesses)
The great Uncle who died at Parit Sulong as the allies retreated fighting a rear guard action.
The grandfather who was in the Dutch underground and helped to get allied airman out of the Netherlands and intelligence back to England (which they often ignored). He managed to outsmart the Gestapo for 4 years and survived the war.
There would be few migrants who don’t have a war story.
I’m sure they all remember on this day.
