I sold out of my Normandy too early at $1.75 - made a nice profit but misjudged the intensity of the takeover struggle.
The big majors are desperate to increase their market capitalisation (to attract major investment) and I for one, don't see Placer Dome having a sweet inside run in its bid to assume control of Aurion.
Where will AOR end up? Somwhere north of $5.00. Exactly where depends on the price of gold over the coming months and its impact on PLacer Dome's share price ... and, of course, on the emergence of rival suitors.
