Part of APA's growth strategy is the construction of new gas pipelines where justifiable.
My question however is more basic.
As one who doesn't work in the energy sector and so lacks specialist knowledge of this highly technical sector, does APA benefit contractually if there's an increase in demand for gas that flows through its network of pipelines?
On a fairly cold autumnal day in Victoria, the AEMO shows the Victorian price for natural gas as $6 per Gj with demand at a reasonably high 609Tj.
Does this mean higher revenue and profit today for the company, or is that all 'consumed' by the retailer and distributor?
