A few years back I gutted the bathroom where I now live. Took the wall linings off and completely gutted it light fittings, plumbing floor everything.
Tiled, installed sinks, cabinets shower cubicle and the whole box and dice. It looks and works great and it only cost me for the materials.
Big job and would have cost thousands in costs from tradies.
Not my first tiling, wall, shower or plumbing so I knew what I was doing.
Better job than a lot of traidies Ive seen. One so called tradie did my friends bathroom and I watched what he did to the floor tiling.
The floor was not level so instead of leveling it with cement he just piled up the glue underneath the tiles and put chips of tiles in to it to hold up the glue so the tiles would be level. The tiles dont slope down to the drain either and they have a problem with that. This so called tradie was not interested in ever coming back to fix it. Personally I would not have done such a bodgie job.
One other thing I hate is the use of builders bog in jobs. Anyone who uses builders bog should be trade tested imo.
