Is there actually anything new here. I thought it has been pretty well a given for about six months now that increased regulation is coming. However,given APA's long-term contracts, it will take years for the impact to start showing in its earnings so I don't understand the sudden panic. Goldman Sachs, a strong supporter of the stock, estimates that the maximum earnings hit is likely to be about 10% and that will be many years away.
At the moment I am a lot more concerned about the impact of rising bond yields and interest rates on the valuation of APA than I am about regulation.
Is there actually anything new here. I thought it has been...
