    Guys, relax.

The majority of Aphria's revenue comes from the harvest and distribution of cannabis crops. The only reason Aphria had a large share holding in Althea in the first place was so that they could could use their ownership control to essentially sign themselves on as the supplier for Althea in order to generate revenue for Aphria (i.e. vertical integration).

However, Althea's strategic direction is to develop their own crops (as they have done so in Melbourne) and thus become both distributor and retailer themselves, expanding globally (as can be seen with their UK and Canada acquisitions).

This clashes directly with Aphria's own strategic direction, as Althea has then become a competitor, rather than a retail sub-unit that they can sell their cannabis crops to (again, go back to Aphria's strategy of vertical integration).

Hence, Aphria has decided to sell their holdings of Althea as there is no longer a strategic benefit of holding Althea -- Althea has already disclosed publicly countless times that they plan to grow their own crops and become less reliant/move away completely from being supplied by Aphria.

tldr; expected, nothing to see here -- just because Althea may be losing Aphria as a supplier does not mean bad news at all. Althea has their own crops and vision.
