The word garma is a Yolngu word meaning "two-way learning process".
Seems to me the garma show is more one way than two. More like telling than learning. Take the latest apology; all well and good until they start using white sheets over the camp fire. Since when was weaving linen an indigenous handicraft; all these ancient rituals are merely contemporary theatrics.
Sybolism you say; so why no explanation. Ask any Aboriginal in the street- they have no idea either.
