Running a country is similar to running a business; you need to make the right decisions in order for your business and employees to prosper.
If I gave in to the majority of my employee's wishes, my business would be broke and everyone would lose their jobs.
God help us if Rudd continues on his merry way of agreeing to whatever the majority of the people want, because the majority of the people are workers and not leaders and do not consider the consequences of certain decisions.
As a democracy, I believe we elect a government to steer us in the right direction, I don't think that means that they have to do everything that the majority wants.
