I am still stunned at what we have seen in the past 3 years.

The coalition had a golden platter handed to them. Control of both houses of parliament and what seemed an unassailable majority.

After the incredibly bad judgement by Labor to have someone like Latham in control it seemed like Labor would take another decade to recover, to even come close to the coalition.

Three years ago if you had forecast that not only would Labor be in power (in three years) but Howard would lose his own seat most people would have thought you were crazy. It just seemed so impossible.

Like I said I am stunned at the turnaround but where can the blame be placed? Who is to blame for this historical, epic, biblically-proportioned change in the nation?

I think the little bloke mouthing off in Harvard University is the one, the single, the central point of blame. An arrogance so monumental but still packed into such a diminutive frame.

If he had kept his promise to Costello (wasn't a core promise apparently) it may be a totally different story.
