App Annie rankings for 3rd JAN 16. Most countries have update to early evening, to late evening of the 3rd.

Some countries up, some down, some the same as the 1st JAN 16. Contrary to rumours attempting to be spread by a few, that the sky has fallen. I will go through the ups after this list, as an analysis exercise.

For the App Annie rankings, they can change hourly. Peak time for downloads is between the hours of 2100hr and 0100hr. Here are the countries up, compared to the 1st JAN 16. Or, if you want to look at all countries simply go back and find the posting on the 1st JAN 16 :
France - Google play - up 2 places; Italy - ios up 7 places, Google Play up 15 places; Spain - Google Play into the top 100; Russia - ios up 4 places; Ukraine - ios up 8 places; Philippines - ios up 20 places;
Vietnam - google Play up 7 places; Nigeria - Google Play p 29 places; Ghana - Google Play up 6 places;
Mexico - Google Play up 3 places; Columbia - Google Play up 6 places; Argentina - ios into top 100, Google Play up 7 places; Singapore - Google Play into top 100.

So, if you wanted to sum up the above by continents :

SE ASIA emerging economies - up or steady in both versions, with exception of China which dropped out of the top 100 (it does this regularly) but their Chinese New Year starts 8th Feb 16 and goes for a week. As I type this the local news is saying businesses are putting on extra staff to cope with the influx. So the Chinese will travel for that holiday.

SOUTH AMERICA emerging economies - seem to have discovered Google Play version over the Christmas period and is up. iOS - up or the same in most countries except Brazil, where iOS has dropped.

AFRICA and MIDDLE EAST - performing well in both versions but Google Play also seems to have been discovered over the Christmas period and is moving up.

WESTERN EUROPE - iOS up in some countries, down in others and still never turned up in France, in the last month. Also dropped out of the top 100 in Germany. Google Play up in some countries but dropped out the the top 100 in Germany.

EASTERN EUROPE - iOS up in Russia and Ukraine. Google Play dropped out of the top 100 in both these countries.

NORTH AMERICA - iOS down 3 places but generally steady. Same result for Google Play.

So, all in all, the world as we know it, is not ending and World Phone powers on, even during the 'after New Year hangovers and no money 'cause we spent it all over Christmas ' period.
Clearly strongest results for World Phone continue to come from the emerging economies of SE Asia, Africa (including Middle East) and South America.

Feel free to do your own analysis, as the above is merely my personal opinion, based on what I see in the results.
Looking forward to the next announcement and the start of some of the things mentioned in the last announcement just prior to Christmas. It is going to be an exciting year for us long termers in NOR.
