(a) The company that wrote the report have bought shares and are looking to make a few pips. The old "pump and dump".

(b) The company that wrote the report have bought shares and have a sniff of good news about to be released and are looking to make a few pips. The old "pump and dump".

(c) The company that wrote the report have bought shares and are looking to make a few pips. While the company who the report was written about are looking to insulate themselves from some bad news.

Could be a trade here for the avid few still trading this stock, watch the volume.
