Gepps Cross has removed their large display. I told a sales rep that I noticed they removed it and asked if it had any thing to do with sales numbers. She said it wouldn't have anything to do with sales and they are constantly changing their merchandising. That makes a lot of sense. Many retailers regularly move displays/ change merchandising to keep the store looking fresh. My wife used to work in clothes shops and she was moving stock around daily.
Modbury on the hand had the watches still displayed in the glass cabinet and they now have the large display of empty boxes which they didn't have the first time I looked (when the other stores did have them).
The advertising certainly isn't letting up.
