Article in the herald this morning about the 'reshaping' of Australian into an Asian country.

Dr Mahathir quoting the below (apparently we are the 'they')

"They can try and sustain their culture, their language, but the inflow of Asians into Australia will certainly change the character and distribution of population in Australia. And in the future, they are going to be more Asian than European."

The 'Doc' is not quoting anything we don't know, especially the power of language to seperate and group.

Of all the Asian nations my favourite is Japan, for the very reason that it has a very strong and defined culture.
There is something about how the Japanese go about things that appeals.

'culture' is a nations values reinforced through everyday behaviour.

Why does the media and government not discuss the value of the 'australian culture', is it because they seen no value in it or it does not really exist and there is no cost in it being lost?
