From the greenie perspective, it depends on their goals.
If they had meetings and been willing to compromise, they might have got some results..I doubt it'd be anything major, but a few more trees here and there. The project would go ahead though.
If their only acceptable result is stopping the project, then their only chance is the exact tactics they're using...add delays, increase costs and uncertainty, cause the company to miss goals ( like fundraising via options ). Their aim at the tribunal would be to push this further, probably by trying to get a study (funded by CRC, and taking as long as possible) in order to add further to the delays and additional costs.
I suspect (hope) their chances are slim, but it's the only chance they have to stop the mine dead.
