    CER is a very different kettle of fish, as we will continue to see as we move forwards.

    There is no doubt both entities are in the same situation as far as property revaluations are concerned, but CER is (especially after the announcement today) in relatively good shape, the shareholders have not been diluted and a number of the big problems within the group have been overcome.

    CER paid a dividend last year and there is a chance they will do so this year, although the company is not prepared to give guidance. CNP is now prohibited from distributing for a number of years, CER is not.

    One of the issues facing CER is the inability for the average person to draw a distinction between it and CNP, a term I coined Centroitis a while back. Unfortunately, this is going to continue until either CER changes its name, or CNP returns to favour.
