To be fair it wasn't easy to see back in 2003 that Apple would be as dominant as it was today. Their track record prior to them coming up with the iphone and ipad wasn't stellar - the mac in the late 80's onwards was in many computing enthusiasts minds an inferior alternative to the PC.

These days of course it is the iphone and ipad competitors who are seen as having the inferior product.
