Further to this: It doesn't need to be one that's much better.
It doesn't need to be one they can't use along with APT.
If it becomes an easy to join payment method that makes people feel they are getting something for nothing,
just the fact of having it could be enough to deter people from investigating another option.
Life's too short, don't confuse me etc etc
