Where'd you find this information? Care to share a link or some insight?
If you read through the comments there are suggestions that due to the RS485 (wiring diagram) commonly being used in Industrial controls, it could be some kind of hub. Pure speculation, however I think it may be more realistic than a new G5 powerbook which were discontinued many years ago.
