just my humble opinion.. one of the features of Apple is that they have always been had a closed ecosystem meaning that the product could not be modified or customised by the user. This is a contrast to the open ecosystems of the android world.

I just had a thought that perhaps one of the reasons for this, may be that they have used other technologies previously in their products which keeps them at the cutting edge of tech, while they focus on making it look and feel like a nice product to hold.

Apples PC market is deeply entrenched in creative agency..so it comes as no surprise that they are headed this direction. I'm forming the opinion that Apple labs are more or less a very sophisticated product testing lab as opposed to a hardcore research and development lab.

The more i think about it, the less i associate them with manufacturing, and the more i liken them to a Google with a main focus on researching the information from data that is provided by their users.. the information provided above by Uiux makes complete sense when Apple is held in this light.
