I'm not denying cardless is taking off but my point is Apple Pay is not as prevalent as the Apple iPhone. I think only about 20% of Apple iPhone users have used Apple Pay.
I took a look at this yesterday - there's plenty of online stats and comparisons...
Apple Pay is growing at 50% YoY which is lower growth than Afterpay but from a much larger base. Apple Pay has estimated 200-400m users (depending on source and date of survey). Google Pay has about half the users of Apple Pay but growing at 100%.Also - the EU and US are probably going to bust open Apple's monopolistic and anti competitive practices as far as not just the App Store but their refusal to allow any other wallet on the iPhone to use the iPhone's built in NFC for contactless payment. Apple have grown too big and proven too anti competitive in their practices and I cannot see that being allowed to continue. I expect it to either break up or open up.
