The Apple threat is vastly overdone IMO and if anything it is going to open up more markets and opportunities to us. I believe there was talk of GSAT needing to build satelites and 1-2 years before any two way messaging could be possible. How much money, time and resources will they dedicate here, it is not their main area of income plus they are not planning at this stage to be offering anywehre near the level of Zoleo with a targeted product to a market who wants safety and securty, API's coming, add ons and features as well as a robust device which will not freeze, overheat, have water issues, low battery life, cracked screen etc. If I am needing 000 now in suburbia even though there is an SOS function on my phone there is no way I am pressing this, I am just ringing 000, if you are in the middle of nowhere I would not want to be relying on a half baked offering, I want my Zoleo. I think Google actually had some serious problems here with some failed SOS calls, and rememner it only takes 1! Plus add in to all of this Zoleo should always be better as it is a larger receiver so if Apple has SOS and messaging we should have emails and calls as technology advances. Thnk of a torch on your phone, yeah it is handy at times but if I am serious about needing a torch as a tradesman, camper, hiker, crawling under the house I am going to buy and use a dedicated torch as it is always better due to the size and secialisation is it not? AND assuming it gets going as planned there is no way this will be free after the two year trial ends, it will have a fee like anythign else if you want to two way message if not to cap numbers if nothing else as the system could not have everyone onthe globe using it and believe me you will just get people sitting at home using satelite messaging if it was free. So then it is square one, a fee like Zoleo, no backup device, a poorer netword as GSAT is known as a laggard and less specialisation.

Re China and Taiwan this could be bad for us also as China really wants to control the semi conducter chip space which is a massive part of what Taiwan do. I agree though Apple could be impacted, there are already issues with Covid lockdowns and what not. The FAANGS are under immense pressure and on a side note when Trump/De Santis wns the elction I would not be surprised to see some high level former gvernement and tech CEO's arrested for their crimes of election rigging and 1st amendment violations, some seriosu questions will be asked at a minimum. This is not pie in the skie stuff, from what I am seeing online there is clear cut categoric evidence the US gvernment has been working in concert with big tech to just censor things they don't like or are negative to them and it does not stop at Covid, Afghanistan was mentioned as an example. Some very troubling times ahead but there needs to be a massive cleanout as society is breaking down as more leaders like Trudeau, Ardern, are using social media to censor under the guide of miss information that they declare to be so.
