In NZ, and I presume Australia as well, as long as a drug has been approved a doctor can prescribe it for other conditions where appropriate, and import it for that purpose as well.This is where trofinetide could go ballistic; if it is used for other illnesses on the autism spectrum and is effective, the potential market for it is enormous.
