Appointment of Chief Executive Officer
The Board of Mobi Ltd (“Mobi” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce the
appointment of Mr. Michael Abela, as Chief Executive Officer of the Company (effective
October 25, 2007).
Mr. Abela has had a long involvement with the Company as a corporate advisor and
recently assisted in its successful capital raising efforts.
Mr. Abela will be responsible for all operational activities of Mobi and its two recently
acquired companies, Sholl Communications and OneNetwork. His key focus will be to
deliver shared efficiencies across the group whilst driving strong sales growth.
Michael Abela has had extensive experience over the last 15 years in a range of senior
management positions covering sales and marketing, operations and finance. With a
particular focus in the telecommunications and technology sector, Mr. Abela was
formerly Managing Director of ASX listed company Quadrant Iridium Ltd (now Fulcrum
Equity Ltd, ASX:FUL).
Mr. Abela will report directly to the Board of Directors. Mobi Ltd Chairman, Mr. Fabio
Pannuti commented, “We are very pleased to have someone of Michael’s ability and
professionalism join the Company. He has already had a successful relationship with
the Company as a corporate advisor and I am sure he will continue this success in his
new role.”
Mr. Abela joins the Company at a critical time, as it grows its existing business, seeks
to acquire new businesses and prepares to spin out its Mobi Data business.
Mr. Pannuti added, “The appointment of Michael as CEO will allow Garry Sholl to focus
on seeking complementary acquisitions for Mobi and major sales activities. Using his
extensive experience and contact base, Mr. Sholl will be moving to Managing Director
and looking to increase the scale of the Company.”
Mr. Abela is also an independent director of Austin Group Ltd (ASX:ATG).
