APPOINTMENT OF DIRECTOR
Additional key personnel appointed
Sirius Resources NL (ASX: SIR) (“Sirius” or the “Company”) advises that it
has appointed Anna Neuling to its board as a non-executive director.
Anna has been the Company Secretary and Chief Financial Officer since
2009. She is a Chartered Accountant (UK) who has held a number of
senior finance positions within the resources industry, including CFO and
Company Secretarial roles at several listed companies. Anna worked at
Deloitte in London and Perth prior to joining LionOre in 2005. She holds
a degree in mathematics from the University of Newcastle (UK).
Additionally, the Company has appointed Andy Thompson to the
position of General Manager – Resources and Geology, and John Bartlett
to the position of Exploration Manager – Nova. Both Andy and John held
senior roles at LionOre prior to its takeover by Norilsk, and have
extensive experience in the discovery, development and mining of nickel
sulphide and gold deposits.
Andy Thompson was a key member of the team responsible for the
discovery, feasibility study and mining of the Thunderbox gold mine and
the Waterloo nickel mine and was also responsible for significantly
extending the life of the Silver Swan nickel mine.
John Bartlett was a key member of the geology team at Lionore’s Lake
Johnston nickel operations and was closely involved in the delineation of
the Emily Ann, Maggie Hays and Lounge Lizard nickel mines.
Sirius’ Managing Director Mark Bennett said “I am looking forward to
having Anna on the board as the Company grows. She brings a broad
range of financial and corporate skills to the board. Anna’s experience
will complement the technical and operational skills of Andy and John as
we move into the resource delineation phase at Nova whilst continuing
to explore aggressively.”
