Motive - Strengthen the board in relation to negotiations with potential partner(s).
Dr Pond - recently with Johnson & Johnson, one of the large multi-national pharmas. Rob Thomas, financial expertise in relevant areas, plus a very large indirect shareholder.
The company is gearing up for some hard negotiations. It might even be with Johnson & Johnson given Dr Ponds' previous experience. You never know, she might even be there at the instigation of J&J?
Should be good news I think. Time to buy again perhaps as something may be happenning quite soon?
