Really, though, how many projects are being held up in this country due to the actions a tiny few activists who don't care what the majority want. I'm all for caring about the environment, too, and wouldn't like to see any development at the cost of massive pollution and permanent degradation, but surely these days councils and governments vet applications with enough scrutiny to prevent that happening. However, the Greenies don't seem to want anything done that may cause the loss of even one tree.
