THE NSW Department of Education has named four personal computer vendors as approved suppliers for its $544 million schools technology program.

IBM, Apple, ASI, and Optima will provide schools with 100,000 new machines, which for the first time will be bought rather than leased, and about 75,000 leased machines will be bought outright.

Schools are allotted computer entitlements, and the department will make the purchases on their behalf.

The department requires that the new computers have 80GB hard drives, 17-inch flatpanel screens, an optical mouse and a four-year warranty.......

What is also important is who is NOT on the list......DELL

Let's see, if Optima gets 1/4 of the booty, that's 136 million dollars in sales! That's a whole year's revenue on top of their other orders. That should kick their tightly held share price into orbit. Plus the dividend, which at current SP equals 10% FF. How good is that.
