Who would have thought that 22Q1 payments would be tracking lower than 21H2? Almost everyone, given the lower unemployment, lower delinquency rates and higher house prices. If 22Q2 claim payments are at a similar level (I have no reason to think othewise), then we are at $12m for the half.
And yet, at the AGM only 2 weeks ago, the CEO affirmed the forecast of $100m of claim payments this year. I suppose her job as an insurance CEO is to be overly conservative.
