Besides an interest in the stock market, I'm a very keen tropical fruit tree grower just north of Sydney. Some of these trees are very marginal, particularly some varieties of banana plants. Two cultivars have never fruited because of the winter setback. Just a couple of degrees warmer would see them through winter and flourish. Others are more forgiving and fruit all year. If only I had an increase in winter minimums of 2 deg C over the past 30 odd years I would have seen fruit from these marginal cultivars, not a single fruit or inflorescence so far. I'll be the first to know if we have any warming happening at least at my place.
