Jack had no choice. The Kabala crystals cast onto the pentagram told him to buy. I mean, if you walked into a financial planner's office and the dude was wearing a hoodie with a nose ring and an MDMA stare, I think it would be prudent to look around with a bemused expression, say, "Oh, I thought this was the dentist!" and beat a hasty retreat. Also, he has no financial qualifications either.
