Nicely posted with an air of conviction BUT a wholly naive view.

Resistance is where there are unfulfilled orders. So that's why the price halts there or struggles to move through that area when said price is revisited.

This is not even taking into account all of those people who bought at that price, sitting on losses and are now vowing to recoup their money when probe moves back up to their buy price.

Or we could go into the self fulfilling prophecy side of things where perceived resistance leads to traders adding to the sell pressure there.

This all results in resistance.
